Kick Ball
Yesterday in Movement Ed class we played kickball. It wasnt just an ordinary game of kickball. We were split up into 2 different groups. Half was the kicking team and the other half was the fielding team. The "pitcher" constantly rolled the ball, therefore everyone had to keep kicking and running around the bases. The fielding team had to catch the balls and throw them to a person standing next to a hula-hoop where all the balls were placed at once. When there were no balls in the hula-hoop to be "pitched" then the team won. Its hard to explain but I think this is a better way go about the kickball game. Everyone had to be constantly moving and everyone had fun at the same time.

It sounds like it was a good game and that everyone did have a good time. We played a version of kickball in my fitness ed class called mat ball. It was very fun also. Its basically like kickabll except the bases are bigger and you can continusously run them unless you are tagged out. You can also pass someone if they are on a base. If you enjoy kickball, then you would probabaly enjoy mat ball.
I thought it was fun too. I enjoyed how everyone was constantly moving and we weren't just standing around. I would consider doing this kind of activity for when I am a teacher. I know if we had fun playing, little children would too!!
Who do you have for Movement Ed? what other kinds of activities do you do in class? We play childrens' games like we are 5 years old. Most of it is folk dancing. It's so funny how the same class can be completely different when taught by separate professors. I'm just curious what kinds of things you do and how you earn your grade.
I thought that this was a great idea. It keeps everyone moving and allows for more activity. There wasn't a time where some people were just standing around. When i am a teacher i am going to try to adapt games for everyone to be active as much as possible.
